Sealtiel es la forma hebrea que significa "mi deseo es Diós". Como la mayoría de los nombres de origen hebreo tiene un significado exclusivamente religioso. Sealtiel, según la tradición hebreo-cristiana, es uno de los cuatro arcángeles no nombrados en la Biblia, al igual que Yeudiel, Uriel y Baraquiel.
